Photography and publication of images
We live in a visually marked time where photography and the publication of images are not only widespread, but have become perhaps the most common form of expression and communication. Stabekk Turnforening is a club that has a high level of activity in terms of recruitment, events and travel in connection with competition and training camps. For Stabekk TF's part, it is important to highlight such activity in social media. Many athletes (children and adults) also feel pride and joy at this attention, which is good for motivation and helps to strengthen the club environment.
On the other hand, it is important to respect the integrity and right to privacy of children, young people and adults. For that reason, Stabekk TF has laid down some clear guidelines for photography and the publication of images.
Guidelines
Photographs must not be taken at club training without the consent of the athlete and their guardian if children are under 15 years of age.
During open events with the public, group photos and photos of athletes can be photographed before, during and after the competition, assembly and camp. This is authorized by the Copyright Act, where depiction is of public and general interest.
However, photographs must not be taken or published if the photographs show people in a degrading situation or reveal highly private matters about the person or are incriminating in some other way.
If any athletes or parents of athletes should explicitly communicate to us that they do not want photos of them or their children to be published, this must of course be respected regardless of the law.
The legislation
The guidelines for photographing and publishing images can be found in the Personal Data Act https://lovdata.no/dokument/NL/lov/2018-06-15-38?q=personopplysningslov and the Intellectual Property Act https://lovdata.no/dokument/NL/lov /2018-06-15-40?q=åndsverklov.
